Structure of this Course: This course is built around a spectrum of 7 communicating styles. At the top end of the scale is the Command and Tell style where we are fully concerned with communicating our message. At the bottom end of the scale is the Listening style with its total focus on the message coming from others.

Overview: Every time we are engaged in the act of communicating with others, we are confronted with a range of choices about our communication style. Ineffective communicators operate from a range of limited choices. If they are particularly ineffective, they may operate for most of the time in a one-way, command-and-tell style, uninterested in what others think, need or say. Those who are effective work from a much broader range of choices, adapting their style to whatever each situation demands. Such people read situations by focusing on what others say and making considered choices about their communication response.
